"WHAT?" Ella`s voice cracked through the ethereal space, her confusion palpable.

"Who are you?" The figure before her radiated an otherworldly grace, her presence both ancient and timeless.

"I am known as Kaguya, and this is my friend Joshua." She gestured to a tall, serene figure standing beside her, whose eyes held the depth of countless lifetimes. Ella rubbed her temples, feeling disoriented.

"Am I dreaming? This doesn`t feel right.

All these visitors and visions lately—this one feels different." The words tumbled out as she struggled to make sense of her surroundings. "You might call it a dream, I suppose," Kaguya explained with gentle patience, "but you are visiting another domain of reality.

Don`t worry—your spirit is here while your body rests safely in your bed." "So why am I here, in this domain of yours? What do you want from me?" Ella`s voice carried a mix of curiosity and wariness born from too many recent supernatural encounters. Kaguya`s smile held both warmth and mystery.

"We simply wanted to say hello, and for you to know that we exist.

I am born—physically, anyway—thousands of years in your future, but my spirit is ancient." She paused, as if choosing her words carefully.

"We are currently visiting a young Aboriginal girl, alive in your time but vitally important hundreds of years from now.

She is a teenager like you, just thirteen years old.

So we thought we would visit you as well." "Just to say hello? That seems..." Ella searched for the right word, "silly.

Are you like Helana?" "No, we are not from Helana`s domain," Kaguya clarified, "but we know her, and we are partly responsible for her being with you in your here and now." Ella`s expression softened immediately.

"Well then, thank you for that.

Helana is the love of my life.

We`re not gay or anything like that, but she is the most important person in my world." Joshua stepped forward, his voice carrying the weight of cosmic understanding.

"Yes, we know.

When we observed that you two were genetic twins, we knew she was the one to help you with your difficult task ahead.

Genetic twins occur perhaps once in hundreds of millions of years, so this was a rare opportunity.

We helped, just a little, to ensure she became anchored here.

It was a convenient synchronicity." "Synchronicity?" Ella`s brow furrowed.

"What does that mean?" "A synchronicity is one of those seemingly random coincidences that isn`t quite so random," Joshua explained patiently, "since the One Infinite Creator has nudged your reality slightly to make it so." A smile tugged at Ella`s lips.

"So Helana is a gift from God? I think I already knew that.

Tell Him thanks for me." Kaguya`s laughter rang like silver bells through the dimensional space.

"You just did." Ella yawned, suddenly feeling the pull of her physical form.

"Okay, you`ve said hello.

Can I go back to sleep now?" "Certainly," Joshua replied with genuine fondness.

"You will not see us again in this lifetime.

Thank you for allowing us to visit.

In a few thousand years, though, we will meet again.

Sweet dreams, precious Ella." Ella jolted upright in her bed, her heart racing.

"Whoa! That was intense," she whispered to the darkness before settling back into her pillows and drifting into peaceful sleep. The Next Morning The autumn air was crisp as the girls walked to school, their breath forming small clouds in the morning chill.

Ella had been unusually quiet until she suddenly turned to her friend. "Helana?" Ella ventured carefully.

"Do you know a woman named Kagulla?" Helana stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes widening with unmistakable excitement.

"WHAT? Do you mean Kaguya?" "Yeah, that could be it—Kaguya." Ella looked surprised by Helana`s intense reaction.

"Is she someone special?" "Yes! Yes, she is special—at least to me she is." Helana`s words came out in a rush.

"How do you know of Kaguya?" "She came to me in what felt like a dream, but more like those night school sessions with your mom.

She was with some guy named Joshua." "OH MY GOD!" Helana squealed, grabbing Ella`s arm.

"They`re real! I knew it! I always believed it! What did she say? What did he say?" Ella couldn`t help but smile at her friend`s enthusiasm.

"They just came to say hi, and mentioned that we`d meet again in a few thousand years.

They also said that when they noticed we were genetic twins, they had God adjust reality so you`d get stuck here to help me." "They said WHAT?!" Helana`s voice reached a pitch only dogs should hear.

"They know who I am?!" "Okay, calm down, girl." Ella laughed, steadying her bouncing friend.

"What`s going on here?" Helana took a deep breath, trying to contain her excitement.

"Imagine you`re walking somewhere and Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz appears and starts talking to you.

Imagine your favorite character from fiction or mythology comes to life, and they even know who you are.

Wouldn`t that be the most incredible thing ever?" "So tell me more about this Kaguya.

Who is she? Why is she so important to you?" Helana`s expression grew more serious as they resumed walking.

"In this time, she`s just a Japanese fairy tale.

In my time—the future—there isn`t much about her in recorded history.

Over millions of years, we`ve lost or forgotten almost everything about the next ten thousand years.

Ancient Earth history has become more fiction than fact.

We have stories, myths, but no proof any of it was real.

That`s partly why some of us come back to observe, like I did.

Even then, it`s difficult to separate what`s observed from what`s imagined.

Kaguya belongs to that lost time." She paused, gathering her thoughts.

"You see, in her era, my people lived in what we call Level 5, while Earth people existed in Level 3.

We were separated, evolved in different directions, different timelines.

Kaguya is from Level 3 Earth." "But I believed," Helana continued, her voice growing softer.

"I would lie awake at night imagining she was real.

I`d read the stories, watch the animated shows—yes, we still have those in the future—and imagine it was all true.

People laughed at me for believing in her, just like they laughed at me for believing in you.

I have goosebumps knowing she actually exists." Ella studied her friend`s face.

"So what makes her so special? Is she a superhero? Does she fly around wearing a cape? What does she know about me? Why would she travel thousands of years just to say hello?" "Because you have a lot in common," Helana said simply.

"She is definitely a hero, and so are you." "I think you`re fangirling a bit much, Helana.

How are we heroic?" Helana`s expression grew grave.

"Earth is actually an incredibly dangerous planet, Ella.

Repeatedly, catastrophes occur that are Extinction Level Events.

It`s miraculous that humanity survives at all.

After these events, certain individuals—post-apocalyptic survivors—lead humanity back to safety, rebuild civilization, and guide our species back on course for survival, at least until the next catastrophe.

You are one of those survivors, and in her time, so is she." "What was her catastrophe?" Ella asked quietly. "My being here might have changed some things, but either way, I can`t tell you.

It might alter your focus on what we need to accomplish in our time." "That`s bullshit!" Ella protested.

"You brat, tell me." "Nope, can`t do it." Helana`s tone was firm despite her smile. "I`m going to bug you about this for the next hundred years if you don`t tell me." "Still nope." "Girls, quiet down!" Eileen called from ahead.

"We`re here.

Time for class."

Dear Diary It`s me, Ella I never realized just how dangerous this little planet really is.

Over and over, we`ve had to rebuild everything after some catastrophe.

My team is supposed to handle it this time, and then later, others like Kaguya have to do it again, and again? What`s the point unless we can fix it permanently? I`m happy that Helana`s dream turned out to be real.

Maybe there`s hope for other impossible things too.

This is getting ridiculous—too many entities, past and future, to keep track of.

It`s exhausting. On top of all this supernatural chaos, there was a presidential inauguration today.

My favorite shows got preempted for political speeches.

It`s all the same—new face, same problems.

The new leader replaces the old one, but the same issues persist.

I wish I could reveal what my team knows, but who would believe it? Good night, diary. I hope I can just sleep tonight without any weird visitations.

Please, universe, let me have some peaceful rest. —Ella

Karma 101

Eileen experiences PTSD after having to shoot someone, leading to a chance encounter with Pastor John, a psychologist and pastor who wants to understand how to help troubled youth like their friend Jenna. Over pizza, Pastor John explains his theory that karma operates through the bicameral brain as an internal mechanism of conscience rather than external divine punishment, while the girls grapple with concepts of forgiveness, justice, and spiritual growth in light of their traumatic experiences.

Roxana receives a vivid dream vision from three ethereal beings claiming to be Wisdom, Prudence, and Knowledge, who tell her she has been chosen for a difficult task and will be able to call upon them for help. The vision deeply troubles Roxana because it conflicts with her Catholic beliefs about divine beings, leading to discussions with her friends and a government psychologist about the challenges of reconciling different religious belief systems without compromising one's core faith.
FIRST Chapter 0 Sleep Over
Thirteen-year-old Ella and her best friends Eileen and Roxana encounter an interdimensional being named Helana during a sleepover, who appears as different benevolent figures to each girl and reveals glimpses of their legendary futures.
