The scream that shattered the pre-dawn silence sent Ella bolt upright in bed, her heart hammering against her ribs.

She stumbled across the darkened room, bare feet finding the cold hardwood floor as she rushed toward Roxanna`s bed. "What the hell, Roxanna? What are you screaming about?" Ella`s voice carried both concern and irritation—these early morning disruptions were becoming far too frequent. Roxanna sat trembling in her twisted sheets, her dark eyes wide with terror as she clutched her left arm.

"Someone grabbed me—shook me awake.

But there`s no one here." Her voice cracked as she scanned the empty room.

"I felt their fingers digging into my arm, Ella.

It was real." Ella sighed, running a hand through her disheveled hair.

"Oh, it`s those damn Visitors again.

I told them to leave me alone, so I guess they chose you this time." She moved to the window, checking the street below out of habit.

Everything appeared normal—the agent`s car still parked across the street, porch lights casting their usual amber pools. "But why are they waking me up?" Roxanna`s fear was giving way to confusion.

"What do they want?" "You probably received a download." Ella retrieved her laptop from the desk, the screen casting a blue glow across their faces.

"Here, let me show you something.

I`ve got maps pulled up—tell me if anything jumps out at you." Roxanna leaned forward, still shaky, and touched the screen in an attempt to scroll.

"Your computer`s broken.

It won`t move." "You have to use the trackpad," Ella explained patiently.

"I know it`s ancient, but it works." "You seriously need to upgrade.

This thing belongs in a museum." Despite her complaints, Roxanna began navigating through the digital map, her movements becoming more purposeful.

Suddenly, she stopped.

"There—right there!" Her finger jabbed at a specific location on the screen. "What is it? Where?" Ella squinted at the coordinates. "It`s a spot in the woods, maybe two miles from here." Roxanna`s voice carried an odd certainty.

"But wait—there`s more." She continued scrolling with increasing urgency.

"Here.

This town called Saratoga Springs, over in New York.

I need to write down both sets of coordinates." As Roxanna scribbled the numbers, Ella studied her friend`s transformed demeanor.

The terror had vanished, replaced by an almost mechanical focus.

"You`re experiencing a classic Visitor download," Ella explained.

"They don`t communicate with words—just coordinates and images implanted directly into your consciousness.

If we visit these locations, you`ll probably recognize them and understand why we were sent there." "So these Visitors—are they the UFO people everyone talks about?" "I don`t think so." Ella closed the laptop thoughtfully.

"My theory is they`re interdimensional beings, but completely different from Helena.

They`re...

stranger.

More alien in ways I can`t quite explain." "What do we do with these coordinates?" Ella`s mind was already racing ahead, formulating plans.

"I suspect the first location is where we`re meant to stash the gold.

As for the second..." She paused, a chill running down her spine.

"I have a feeling we`ll find something—or someone—very important there." "Why are you girls up so early? It`s not even light yet." Their father`s voice drifted from the kitchen, accompanied by the familiar sounds of coffee brewing. "We have a delivery coming," Eileen called back, appearing remarkably alert for someone who should have been asleep.

"You`ll need to sign for it." "All right." Dad`s resignation was evident.

"Please tell me you didn`t use my credit card again." "No, we had enough on our debit cards," Eileen assured him, though her tone carried a note of mischief. "It`s here," Helena announced from her position by the window. "What the hell—an armored car?" Dad`s voice rose in disbelief. "It`s a new promotional thing from the shipping company," Eileen said smoothly.

"They want customers to feel secure about their deliveries." "That`s the most expensive promotion I`ve ever seen.

I wish they`d put that money toward lowering their shipping rates instead." An hour later, the girls gathered in Eileen`s bedroom around a metal case that definitely hadn`t come from any normal shipping company.

Gold bars gleamed in neat rows, alongside stacks of currency that represented more money than most people saw in a lifetime. "Let`s divide it up," Ella directed, slipping into her natural leadership role.

"Five pounds of gold in each backpack, five hundred in cash for our purses.

We`ll need to stop by the bank and load some onto our debit cards too." "Enough for what?" Helena asked, though her otherworldly intuition probably already provided the answer. "We`re skipping school today for a road trip," Ella announced.

"First, we stash our gold at the coordinates Roxanna received.

Then we take a bus to that little town in New York." "That`s an eight-hour bus ride," Roxanna pointed out.

"We`d have to spend the night." Ella`s smile turned predatory.

"Then we`ll borrow the neighbors` car—the agents across the street.

If they don`t recognize us, we`ll try that Jedi mind trick.

Maybe we can even convince them to drive us there personally." In the Woods "This is barely off the main trail," Eileen observed skeptically as they pushed through the underbrush.

"How secure could it possibly be?" "Let`s investigate anyway," Helena suggested, her enhanced senses already picking up something the others couldn`t detect. "I don`t see anything special.

Just trees and rocks and—" Eileen stopped mid-sentence as Roxanna suddenly veered toward a cluster of large boulders. "Look behind those bushes," Roxanna called out, her voice carrying the same certainty it had held while viewing the maps.

"There`s an opening." Ella peered through the vegetation and whistled low.

"You`re right.

And it`s almost perfectly camouflaged.

This might be an old lava tube or something similar.

Eileen, you`re the smallest—want to go in first?" "Absolutely not," Eileen shot back.

"Roxanna found it, and she`s skinnier than me anyway.

She gets the honor of checking for bears or whatever else might be living in there." "I`ll do it," Helena volunteered, activating her phone`s flashlight.

"I think I can squeeze through." Within moments, Helena`s excited voice echoed from below: "Girls, you need to see this! There`s already stuff down here!" One by one, they squeezed through the narrow opening into a natural chamber that opened up considerably once inside.

The beam of Helena`s light revealed an astonishing sight: antique firearms that looked like Civil War-era muskets, kegs that probably contained gunpowder, and a wooden chest that Eileen was already working to open. "This is incredible," Ella breathed, examining the muskets.

"Look at this—Eileen just opened that chest, and it`s full of gold and silver coins.

This has to be from the Civil War period." "Why didn`t they come back for it?" Roxanna wondered aloud. "Probably because they died before they could return," Eileen said matter-of-factly, holding up a handful of tarnished coins.

"Or they couldn`t find this place again." "Well, if this treasure has been here for over a century without being discovered, it should be secure enough for our purposes," Ella decided.

"Let`s make our deposit in this natural bank vault and see about getting that ride to New York." Three hours later, the four girls stood on a street corner in Saratoga Springs, the small New York town seeming almost quaint after their recent adventures. "So what now, Roxanna?" Ella asked.

"We`re here.

What exactly are we looking for?" Roxanna`s gaze was drawn inexorably toward a building across the street.

"That sports bar.

It`s lunchtime, so whoever we`re meant to find should be in there." Ella`s mental voice touched each of her companions: Don`t stare at them directly when we go in.

Act like we don`t know them.

Then, out loud: "What the hell? There`s that bastard Remmick.

Let`s have a conversation with him first." They approached a corner table where a nervous-looking man in his forties was picking at a sandwich. "Hey Remmick, you son of a bitch," Ella said pleasantly as the girls surrounded his table. Agent Remmick`s face went pale.

"What are you girls doing here? You can`t be here.

This is—" "Right back at you," Ella interrupted.

"What are you doing here? You claimed you couldn`t find them, yet here you are, staring right at them." "I`m not at liberty to discuss operational details," Remmick said stiffly, though his hands were trembling. "Screw your operational details," Eileen snapped.

"We can make your whole operation disappear.

Don`t test us." "You girls have serious attitude problems," Remmick muttered, then his voice turned urgent.

"But you`re in real danger here.

I`m in danger here.

We all need to leave before this situation gets someone killed." "You`re starting to figure it out, aren`t you?" Helena`s voice carried an otherworldly resonance that made Remmick flinch.

"We did read your mind, you know.

We discovered that you`re innocent—you genuinely believed everything they told you.

But now you`re beginning to see the inconsistencies in their story.

Trust us when we tell you this: everything you were briefed on was a lie.

You were just a tool for some very evil people." "Work with us, and we`ll protect you," Ella added, nodding toward another table.

"They`ve been mind-wiped, haven`t they? They don`t even recognize us." Remmick followed her gaze to where Commander Beaker and Melanie sat eating lunch, completely oblivious to the drama unfolding nearby.

"You`re just kids, and I`m in way over my head.

I`m a Navy psychologist, not some kind of...

whatever this is.

We need to get out of here before we all end up dead." "We didn`t travel all this way just to turn around and leave," Ella said firmly. "I`m going to talk to them," Eileen announced.

"I need to practice my interrogation skills anyway." Before anyone could stop her, Eileen walked over to Commander Beaker`s table, pulled up an empty chair, and sat down, studying the two adults with unsettling intensity. "Do either of you know who I am?" she asked without preamble. "No, we don`t, little girl," Melanie replied with obvious annoyance.

"And we don`t appreciate uninvited guests at our table." "Well, I know exactly who you are," Eileen continued relentlessly.

"You`re Commander Beaker, and you, ma`am, are Melanie—a therapist and remote viewer.

Commander, you`re an expert on extraterrestrial contact, secret space programs, and special access projects.

You have two daughters named Jennifer and Chloe Beaker.

Most importantly, you know my sister Helena, an interdimensional being whom you helped transform into human form.

We`re part of a team working on one of your special access programs.

Does any of this ring even the smallest bell?" Commander Beaker and Melanie stared at Eileen as if a escaped mental patient had just approached spouting elaborate delusions. "I`m sorry, young lady, but you`re completely mistaken," Commander Beaker said gently.

"I`m Lieutenant Beaker—not Commander—and I`m the housing director for Navy personnel here in New York.

I`ve held this position for twenty years.

I don`t know anything about aliens or secret programs.

While you`re correct about my daughters` names—which are part of public record—my friend Melanie here is indeed a therapist, but she`s not a remote viewer.

If your parents are Navy personnel, she might be able to help you.

I think you need professional assistance.

I almost wish what you described was true—it sounds much more exciting than my actual career." Eileen stared at them both, tears beginning to well in her eyes.

"This is heartbreaking.

They did an excellent job with the mind wipe." She leaned forward intently.

"I know you think I`m disturbed, but please listen carefully.

Memory wipes are extremely complex procedures with inherent flaws.

Fragments of your real life will leak through, especially in dreams.

Over time, the artificial memories will begin to deteriorate.

Here are our phone numbers." She scribbled on a napkin.

"When this false reality starts crumbling—and it will—call us.

I mean it.

Your lives may depend on it." As Eileen walked back to Remmick`s table, she could hear Commander Beaker and Melanie laughing softly behind her. "Let`s get out of here," Eileen said, her voice tight with emotion.

"Remmick, you`re coming with us.

You`re going to help us unravel this entire mess." "I don`t understand how I could possibly help," Remmick protested. "Someone briefed you on this operation," Ella pointed out.

"That`s where we`ll start.

Pack your bags—you`re coming to our safe house.

Since Beaker`s mind has been wiped, he no longer knows its location." "You`re kidnapping me," Remmick said desperately.

"This is illegal.

It`s a federal crime." "Dude," Ella replied with dark humor, "we`re so far beyond legal at this point.

Let`s just focus on staying alive."

Hello Diary, It`s me, Ella I read somewhere that the best strategy for a soldier is to assume you`re already dead.

If you`re not afraid of death because you`re already deceased, then you fight to reclaim your life. That`s exactly what we`re doing now.

We`re charging straight into the machine guns, metaphorically speaking.

If we don`t resolve this situation soon, they`ll kill us anyway, so we might as well push as hard and fast as possible.

They won`t know what hit them. We abducted that fool Remmick and secured him in a safe house.

I had to use the mind trick on Dad again—he doesn`t even remember renting the room.

I feel guilty manipulating him, but we didn`t start this war. We`re dealing with people who kill without hesitation.

But so do we, when necessary.

Ezekiel told us that powerful forces support our mission.

I hope they`re as skilled as he claims. The strange thing is, I`m not really afraid anymore. Wish me luck. Ella
