Chapter 01

During their conversation about horses, faith, and the scattered settlements across the post-apocalyptic world, Hoshiko confesses her romantic feelings for John, who gently rejects her while encouraging her to find young love instead. In 5250 AD at Penny Lake, Sally has been experiencing mysterious orb entities that communicate with her in her sleep, prompting her husband Pat to seek help from their friend Ben, who confirms the entities are from "level six" - the dimension of pure mind. Sally and Pat travel to the city where clinic worker Sherina successfully merges the entities with two volunteers, allowing direct communication, during which the entities claim to be humanity`s "higher selves" warning of spiritual extinction due to Earth`s protective shield. Sally reveals that the entities are actually "Tulpas" - thought-form beings created from human imagination who feed on drama and conflict, and that she has deliberately blocked their access to humanity to end their manipulation of human civilization through manufactured wars and suffering, offering them instead the chance to be reborn as actual humans.
Chapter 05
When 77-year-old community leader Anahere is visited by Nancy and Robert, a concerned couple wanting to punish local boys for ogling their daughters who had deliberately bathed naked in the river to get attention, she dismisses their fears as overreaction and proposes a traditional "honor circle" discussion instead of punishment. The conversation reveals deeper tensions about governance in their post-apocalyptic agricultural community circa 5250 AD, where Nancy and Robert want to recreate the authoritarian Earth Council structure from their previous lives, while Anahere advocates for indigenous-inspired leadership focused on teaching children and preserving knowledge. Despite their disagreements, Anahere agrees to let Robert establish a defensive militia training program with help from her reclusive father Joshua, a forest-dwelling former soldier with memories of multiple past lives.

A group of travelers, led by Anahere, struggle through an overgrown forest road to find Joshua`s remote settlement, only to discover it`s actually a thriving agricultural school rather than the rumored compound with multiple wives. Upon arrival, Anahere meets her half-sister Jessica and stepmother Suong, learning that Joshua runs an educational program teaching farming and survival skills to students from across the continent. Suong shares the romantic story of how she and Joshua first met as enemies during the Vietnam War thousands of years ago, died in an explosion, but were reunited when Joshua pulled her back from death and built their new life together in this peaceful village.

Nancy, unable to sleep, joins Joshua and his wife Suong for sunrise on a hilltop where she reveals her deep concerns about whether they are "the damned"—souls rejected by God and left to wander aimlessly through the afterlife dimensions without divine guidance. Joshua, drawing from his experience as a "coalescent" being who has existed across multiple dimensions, explains that consciousness creates reality through resonance and that different souls are drawn to appropriate domains in the afterlife based on their spiritual vibrations, suggesting religious people likely found their expected heaven while political types like Nancy ended up in domains suited to them. Through their philosophical discussion about the nature of God, consciousness, and the multiverse, Joshua reassures Nancy that there is no single controlling deity but rather an "All that Is" that manifests differently for each individual according to their needs, and that their current existence—whether original or copy—is real and meaningful regardless of its ultimate nature.
Chapter 11
In the year 5258 AD, Ben and Penny announce they are leaving their domain at Penny Lake to be reborn on the planet, causing their friends Sally and Pat to face the reality that their shared world will cease to exist without them. Initially devastated by the news, Sally discovers through a prophetic message that she and Pat are meant to be reborn together as a single soul - a baby girl who will be born to Sally`s granddaughter Hoshiko and her great-grandfather John. The story concludes with Sally and Pat undergoing the rebirth process at a clinic, transitioning from their current forms in the domains to become the newborn Kaguya on the planet below.
